Electric vehicle purchases have recently skyrocketed, and just last year, America broke its record for the most EVs bought in a single year. If you’re considering upgrading to an electric car, the 2025 Kia EV6 is a great choice. Here’s why the EV6 gets top marks from us for innovation, reliability, and range.

A Larger Battery Pack

This year, all trims get a bigger battery for more power and longer range. The Light RWD base trim upgrades its 58.0-kWh battery with a new 63.0-kWh pack, while higher trims swap out their 77.4-kWh battery for an 84.0-kWh pack. This allows for 330+ miles of drive time on a single charge.

Updated Headlight Design

The Kia EV6 also gets a major design update to its headlights, with a new C-shaped running light that now encases the main headlamp. The taillights stay mostly the same, but with the addition of an aesthetic “swoop” to the outer edges of each light for a more angular and eye-catching look.

Relocated Charging Port

The EV6 may be keeping its 800-volt DC charging system, but Kia has moved the charging port to the left rear side on all trims, except for the GT model. This makes the car compatible with the North American Charging Standard (NACS) and gives drivers access to more chargers across the nation.

Dynamic Interior Features

There are also plenty of new updates to the interior of the EV6, including a new steering wheel, a more secure wireless charging pad, and new infotainment software. The curved panoramic infotainment display is also more sophisticated on the 2025 model and offers integrated Android Auto and Apple CarPlay with available fingerprint authentication.

For even more comfort and convenience, the Light RWD interior also offers:

  • Recycled fabric upholstery
  • Vegan leather trim
  • Reclining second-row seats
  • Automatic dual-zone climate control

Other Things to Love About the Kia EV6

Fast Drive Times

Even though speed might not be your first concern when shopping for an electric vehicle, the EV6 offers the best of both worlds. Not only can you get maximum fuel efficiency with the updated battery, you can also reach 60 mph from a complete standstill in just 6.7 seconds in the Light model. If you do have a need for speed, the GT trim can get you from 0 to 60 in 4.5 seconds.

Great Driver Assistance and Safety Features

When peace of mind is important, the EV6 delivers with a full suite of standard driver assistance and safety features like:

  • Front and rear collision avoidance
  • Lane keep assist
  • Blind spot assist
  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Highway driving assist
